Meet Trinidad

I am a native of San Angelo, Texas. I am dedicated leader with a deep commitment to my community. I am running for Mayor in the upcoming election on May 3rd, 2025, I believe that I bring a wealth of experience and a vision for a prosperous future for San Angelo.

While my key focus areas will continue to be Infrastructure, Public Safety, and Economic Development, I will also work to emphasize those issues which are more personal to our citizens and businesses and which affect their daily lives and livelihood. I will maintain an open door policy to ensure that all voices are heard regardless of our differences.

As a former corporate president over 17 states and as a current small business owner, I have developed strong leadership skills, and a clear understanding of operations, marketing, sales and finance. My extensive professional experience positions me to lead the city toward future growth and innovation.

Professional Background/Career:

• Former Verizon president over 17 states, >12K staff, Multi-million dollar budget

  • Responsible for Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Finance emphasizing overall profitability

  • Negotiated with several UNIONs to ensure pay, benefits, and work environment were mutually equitable to all parties

  • Worked with Federal, State, and City officials to ensure overall compliance with laws and ordinances

  • Used a bottom-up approach to Customer Service and satisfaction

  • Focused on employee retention, compensation, and overall job satisfaction

Entrepreneur:

• Partnered to start-up a Roustabout Oil company that is currently a Top performer. (Sold to my Partner)

• Invested in Property Management and now own several Commercial Properties

• Own a Venue in Christoval for weddings, civic and private meetings, school functions, and other activities.

• Purchased a Women's Apparel shop that has grown from 1 to 6 employees and has increased Revenue year over year

• Worked with small Communities to attract businesses such as Dollar General.

Educational Background:

• Bachelors' degree in Computer Science from Angelo State University

• Masters' degree in Telecommunications from University of Dallas

Community Engagement:

• Served as the Chair for the San Angelo Charter Review Committee

• Served on the Executive Board of the Chamber of Commerce

• Served as a Member of the Planning Commission Board

• Worked as a consultant with SBDC during COVID

• Served as past President of the Lake Nasworthy HOA.

• Guest speaker for Angelo State Norris-Vincent College of Business

• Instructor at Howard College for IBEW’s Electrician curriculum. (First Instructor)

• Instructor at Howard College for Hispanic GED students which enabled them to obtain a High School diploma. Taught class in Spanish

• Instrumental in obtaining the Master Planned Community designation for Bentwood Country Club

• Was named as one of the 100 “Most influential Hispanics” in the nation by Hispanic Business Magazine.

As a mayoral candidate, I am committed to fostering economic development, enhancing public services, and ensuring a high quality of life for all residents while building a vibrant and sustainable future for San Angelo.

Personal Life:

Trinidad and his wife have four grown children and numerous grandchildren. Despite professional commitments, he has always prioritized his family's connection to San Angelo, reflecting his dedication to the community he calls home.
